Textile art is a treasure not only in the Eastern but also in the Western world. It can be used for shading and decoration and is also found in tourist souvenirs. Monumentality, fashion, portability, and culture are its key characteristics.

To integrate innovation into product use, I chose fabric as the medium.

Regular Folds

Regular folds are mainly divided into continuous folds and uniform folds.

Technology Innovation

Enhancing product folds through a combination of ironing and sewing.
Material Selection:
Choosing fabrics with elasticity.

Design Goal

Using fabric to break the trend of cultural innovation products becoming overly simplified in design.
Since fabric is commonly used in products, the challenge is to innovate fabric culture and better integrate it into functionality.

There is still room to enhance the characteristics and effects of the fabric itself.

The shaped fabric folds have unique meanings and can offer a richer sensory experience.

Types of Fabric Folds
– Free Folds

Free folds are three-dimensional and sewn.
Example: Issey Miyake’s clothing.
Heat-set instead of sewn, keeping the fabric elastic.
